A granola parfait looks impressive but takes almost no effort to put together.
Layers of creamy Greek yogurt, crunchy homemade granola, and fresh fruit create the kind of breakfast that makes a weekday morning feel a little better.
It works as a quick breakfast, an afternoon snack, or even a light dessert when you want something sweet but not too heavy.

Cook's Notes
I'll be honest, a granola parfait isn't something you need a recipe for. You layer some yogurt, throw some granola on top, and add fruit. Done.
And yet, I have two granola parfait recipes on my website. Why?
Because sometimes life gets busy, and you just want something different to eat, and your mind is too full to even think about flavour combinations for breakfast.
If that's you, I've got you!
Ingredients and Substitutions
This recipe is endlessly flexible. Use whatever fruit is in season or whatever you happen to have on hand.
I like to use Greek yogurt because it's thick and creamy, but you can use any yogurt that you like.
If seeing clean layers in your parfait is important to you (let's say you're hosting a brunch or something), then stick with Greek or Skyr yogurt.
The density of these yogurts helps support the other ingredients, so your layers look nicer.

- Greek Yogurt: I used vanilla-flavoured Greek yogurt here, but you can substitute any yogurt you like. For a dairy-free version, try a thick coconut yogurt.
- Crunchy Granola: Choose your favourite granola. You can't go wrong here. I usually go with my simple homemade granola, but if I want something lighter, I'll use my toasted muesli instead.
- Fresh Strawberries: I love the colour and sweetness strawberries bring to this parfait, but any berry works beautifully.
- Fresh Blueberries: Adds a burst of flavour and makes the layers look really pretty. Substitute with other fresh berries or fresh fruit (like bananas).
- Slivered Almonds: I like the crunch of slivered almonds, but you can use sliced or chopped almonds instead. Alternatively, substitute with any kind of nuts you prefer (like pecans), or omit them entirely. Pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds would also be good substitutions.
- Honey: A small drizzle on top adds a little extra sweetness. You can skip it or swap it with maple syrup if you prefer.
This recipe has not been tested with all possible substitutions or variations. Making changes may alter the taste, texture, or overall outcome. If you try a different ingredient, please share in the comments!

Variations
The classic combination here is yogurt, granola, and mixed berries, but there's a lot of room to play.
- Peach and Honey: Swap the berries for sliced fresh (or canned) peaches and add an extra drizzle of honey.
- Make it Maple: Swap the honey for maple syrup to make a maple parfait with granola.
- Citrus Twist: Swap out the berries for orange or mandarin segments to make a parfait version of my Greek yogurt bowl with citrus.

Tips for Success
- Use a clear dessert glass to see the pretty layers of this parfait.
- Use a thick yogurt, like Greek or Skyr, to keep the layers separate.
- Add the granola just before eating so it stays crunchy.
Common Questions
Yes! Just thaw the fruit before using.
Yes! Layer the yogurt and fruit ahead of time and keep them in the fridge. Add the granola and honey on top right before eating, so the granola doesn't go soggy.
A granola parfait earns its name from the way it's built. This recipe uses layers of yogurt, fruit and crunchy granola, creating a beautiful, structured dish that looks pretty in a clear vessel, like a dessert glass.
