In March I hosted a tea party for my mom's 50th birthday. It was nice to have her friends over for some girly fun. We served tea, of course, as well as scones, carrot soup, cookies, cake, meat pies and lots of other delicious bites. It took a while to prepare everything, but it was totally worth it. Here are some highlights from the event:
This is an edited version of the homemade invitations I made. I was really pleased with how they turned out, especially the tea bag tag.
These are the Brie, Mushroom and Rosemary Pastries from Vol. 4, Winter Issue 2012 of All You Need Is Cheese magazine
Ricardo Larrivée's Super-Easy Strawberry Marshmallows
My mom's amazing homemade beef pies
(I may do a separate post with recipe...)
Pimento Cream Cheese Tea Sandwiches, cut and arranged into cute pinwheels by my friend Tori
Smoked Salmon Sandwiches, also cut and arranged by Tori
Delicious Scones from The Tea Room at Robinson-Bray House with Devonshire cream and Strawberry Jam
Carrot Soup Shooters

Yes, it was wonderful to be able to share cooking with you, as I shared that experience cooking with my mom over many years.
My 50th birthday was very special with friends, family and good eats.
