What if drinking tea could make you prettier?
That’s a beauty trend that I could totally get on board with. No application technique required, no products that sting or burn, just sipping on something warm and lovely. Yes, I could definitely get on board with that.
Introducing MIYU Beauty: a line of beauty serums paired with matching teas that are supposed to effortlessly improve the look of your skin.
I received a sample of the Hydrate Mi Beauty Essence and Beauty Tea in my TopBox a couple of months ago. The idea here is that you can improve your skin from the inside with the tea and topically with the Beauty Essence (which is basically a spray-on serum). Obviously you’re not going to see results from drinking one cup of this tea, so I can’t really tell you if it works or not, but I love the concept.
The Hydrate Mi Beauty Tea is described as:
A light and fruity blend of green rooibos, goji berries, rose petals and snow pear essence. Green rooibos contains nine types of flavonoids to ward off age-accelerating free radicals and essential electrolytes to help hydrate from within. Goji berries deliver a healthy dose of Vitamin C, necessary for collagen production. – MIYU Beauty Website
I actually thought that the tea had a strong floral flavour, which is probably from the rose petals. It’s pleasant to drink and might be nice iced too.
The company also offers a De-Stress Mi Beauty Tea that is described as:
A fresh and earthy blend of peppermint, licorice and chamomile blossoms, boasting anti-inflammatory properties for calming stressed skin. Licorice and chamomile blossoms calm inflammation and soothe from within. Peppermint instantly uplifts the senses and releases the mind from moments of tension.- MIYU Beauty Website
That sounds like a blend that I would prefer. I’m assuming the licorice is the medicinal kind, not the candy-related kind. Natural licorice root tea is very sweet, and has some great health benefits. My naturopath recommended it to me a while ago. It’s an acquired taste, but I think it would be nice blended with peppermint and chamomile.
Unfortunately, I missed out on getting a sample of the De-Stress Mi Beauty Essence and Tea from TopBox so I wasn’t able to try it out.
