It’s been a while since I’ve shared something “yummy” but not edible, but today’s post should make up for it! These pretty little tubes are lip balms from Bare English & Co., a company based in Toronto!
When I first heard about these hand-crafted lip balms, I was anxious to try them. They are vegan (no beeswax), organic, gluten and gmo-free, and full of healthy ingredients like coconut oil, jojoba seed oil and… TEA! Yup, there is tea infused into every lip balm product that this company makes. Why? Well, according to their website:
“Tea is one of the oldest, most widely used forms of natural medicine on the planet. It supports the immune system, fights free radical damage and promotes cell rejuvenation; not to mention, it smells amazing.”
And these balms really do smell amazing! It’s a bit tricky to explain… but they smell fresh and not at all synthetic. The 3 scents that are currently available are Mint Chocolate, Vanilla Coconut, and Pomegranate Berry. Apparently they use to carry a Raspberry Pear scent, which I totally would love. Maybe they’ll bring it back someday.
Ok, so these smell great, but do they work? Yes, yes they do. I’m really picky when it comes to lip balms, because so many of them irritate my lips. Most brand-name lip balms are completely useless to me because they either make my lips burn, crack, peel… you get the idea. It’s so bad that I usually make my own basic lip balm so I know what I’m putting on my face. I’m happy to be able to say that I haven’t had any irritation issues with the Bare English & Co. balms. They go on smooth, moisturize and require an average amount of re-application. They just might be my new favourite lip balms!
If you’re looking for a new lip balm, I’d definitely recommend trying these out. For more details on the ingredients in this balm, click here. Just so you know, the price differs from store to store, ranging from $2.99 – $6.99/tube, so you may want to shop around a bit. These balms are now available at some Rexall locations, as well as independent shops. Click here for a full list of stores that carry these lip balm.
